In this NCAN Green Space session, PhD researcher Lotte Dijkstra (School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape) will talk about the use of storytelling as a method for intersectional environmentalism. How can we use collaborative storytelling to explore equitable access to urban forest places across communities? And how can place-based narratives help connect us to nature and our non-human kin close to home?
Green Space is a discussion series by the Newcastle Climate Action Network from the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape. Green Space aims to showcase the variety of agencies people can take to raise awareness and take climate action, becoming a platform for promoting Newcastle University students' initiatives and forward-thinking as well as uncovering practices from the design and built environment professional landscapes. Green Space offers the opportunity to collectively discuss ways to reduce negative impacts on the environment, and improve approaches and work towards a greener, more sustainable future.
